I have been in the public eye with my dedicated service to the community.
You may have seen me. In the fifty plus years of living in Jefferson County, forty in Cedar Hill, I have been a servant to the residents. I may have drove your school bus. I may have delivered your mail or your propane. I may have screened you at the airport. I may have welcomed you to a Blues game or a great concert. I may have helped you raise money for your benefit or cause. But mostly I have been the friendly guy whom some know me as Ragz. It has been a privilege to get to know so many wonderful people and families in this county. Now I hope you may see me as your voice in Jefferson City representing your interest with your help.
These past couple of years have shown us great challenges due to a pandemic of historic relevance.
Our lifestyles and general way of life were disrupted. Because of fear and uncertain direction of how to deal with the virus we do the best we can to overcome the obstacles we face. Many new ideas as well as a vaccine were developed in efforts to protect lives and livelihoods. Yet, we witnessed liberties, freedoms, and constitutional rights exploited for the sake of power and political manipulation, thus, dividing and alienating our friends and family members. I as your representative will fight to protect individual rights and uphold the constitution and never let government officials take crisis to use as a political tool to malign or distort for political agendas. In fact, I will support legislation that will protect small businesses from overreach from government mandates that are unduly implemented. I will support and protect small and family-owned businesses from the “Big Box” stores and franchises which profited from the pandemic. If you support small community businesses, then I’m your man.
Safety for students, parental rights, and transparency are paramount to educational systems within communities.
I have worked in security for over twenty years. The safety of students and our schools should be first and every student should go home to their families safely. I do support teachers, believing they are the mentors and role models of our children and their futures. I support parents’ right to transparency and should always have a voice in their local school agendas. School Boards shall never believe they are more important than the parents when it comes to raising a child. Because of the pandemic, our educational institutions have seen many changes in the way students are taught. Virtual teaching has been under scrutiny and pediatricians and child psychologist have voiced the concern of not having social interactions and stimuli which has left many students behind. Not only that, but it is also now being learned that in some cases it is unhealthier to be confined. I support “in school learning” vs virtual learning. If you want an advocate for your child’s education and safety, then I’m your man.
I support the men in Blue and those first responders who are our pillars of our communities in the services they provide.
As we have seen because of the pandemic, crime has escalated within the county and abroad. Many good officers are leaving because of the demoralization and scrutiny involved with being a law enforcement officer. The court systems are overwhelmed, and dockets are stacked up. Jail systems were hindered because of Covid and indirectly giving criminals a green light. My father is a retired state police officer and U.S Deputy Marshal and has been a wonderful resource in the operations and life as an officer and understanding the justice system. For the past twenty years, I have worked Security for the U.S Department of Homeland Security (8yrs) and currently the St. Louis Blues and which is now the Enterprise Center (12 yrs.). I work with the STLPD and discuss with them their concerns and problems facing law enforcement.
We must have competent law officers and legal systems if we are to have safe communities.
I believe law enforcement officers should be held to the highest standards of the law and be held accountable in cases when an individual’s constitutional rights are violated. I realize there is a fine line when it comes to enforcing the law and putting your life on the line. All officers just want to go home to their families at the end of their shifts. I do believe officers need to be fully engaged within their communities. Young people must not fear yet respect the jobs these men and women do when they put on that uniform.
Taxes:
If elected, I will work to lower or eliminate some taxes for those over the age of sixty years or those with unforeseen financial hardships. Concerning to me that somebody who has worked most of their adult lives should have to fear losing their property or forfeit basic needs in order to pay their taxes. Taxes are vital to services and infrastructure yet should be structured fairly and responsibly and not penalize those who have shouldered them for two thirds of their working lives.
Addiction and Mental Health:
I have seen the tragic deaths and broken-hearted families as a result of addiction. There is an epidemic in this country and our community. Fentanyl is flowing into this county and killing our children. Heroin and other drugs are now being laced with the deadly drug. I personally have lost family members to addiction. We need to take a good hard look at mental health and what can we do better. Pharmaceutical companies are raking in huge profits. Lawsuits and judgments have shown in some instances have contributed to addition. I will work hard to find some solution to make sure anyone with addiction or mental health issues have access to medical/psychological help. The past seven years I have been a part of the RAH (Rally Against Heroin), an organization which has raised thousands of dollars to help those with addiction get clean and sober as well as raising awareness of this serious problem. If elected, I will fight to get those resources available to those who seek them.
I sincerely care about my community; I will work for my district and constituents to see to it they have a voice. I would appreciate your vote in the upcoming primary election in August to be your State Representative for District 111. Volunteers wishing to support my campaign:

Gun Control
I stand with the 2nd amendment. I believe in conceal and carry. I am not a supporter of Red Flag laws as I feel it could be an opening to more restrictive laws that take rights away from law abiding gun owners. Our forefathers thought very hard on this as a means to keep government in check and prevent any takeover by foreign or domestic entities. I will admit, I think there should be a logical and nonpartisan debate on age restrictions on assault rifles. But let's face it, America has a mental health crisis. Suicide rates are at an all-time number for ages between 16 and 25. The internet and social media seem to have some part in some of the violence we have seen. We need to be more vigilant when it comes to identifying those who may have suicide tendencies or mental issues before they do harm to themselves or others.
